Hi my name is Shanthi Iyengar
I have been an Educator since 1993 and I am well known around the Wavell Heights/Nundah area. I have cared for many children over the years aged from 6 months to 12 years. I still have a wonderful relationship with some of my past parents and children who will occasionally visit to say hi!
I have completed my Diploma in Child Care as well as first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications. My blue card is always up to date. I complete Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting training annually.
I have a spacious indoor play area, dining room, kitchen and lounge room that is used exclusively for Family Day Care as well as a large backyard. I offer quality child care in a safe, relaxed and open ended learning environment. I provide lots of resources for children to use, including lots of books, toys, and art material. I make it a priority to include different cultures, backgrounds, religions, ages and languages in daily activities, and every year I celebrate NAIDOC week, Harmony Week, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Anzac Day, Easter, and other important dates with the kids. I attend the Play Sessions at BBFDC every fortnight and sometimes take the children to the local park and duck pond. My program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework.
